It was with pure reluctance, I assure you, that I moved back to Florida in 2006. I made the transition from my beloved Southern California to the topographically flat Florida, and I was certain I would hate it. But year after year, I found myself settling into a town with the same ease I employ when I melt into my couch after a long day.
Sure, I always thought I would end up in California, but Southern Florida has opened its arms and I have nestled in its chest. I find it comfortable, charming and quaint. From its aquamarine hues and vivid weather to its festivities and variety of restaurants, I’ve grown to love it it all.
And as a freelance writer, I’ve managed to meet interesting people and write stories about them, stories I hope to share with you on this site. Other stories will be the rambling thoughts of a rookie mom.
Tom Robbins once said, “We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love.” Perhaps I was doing just that — wasting time. I am, after all, in a beautiful area surrounded by so much life. So I invite you to read the stories I’ve written and the moments I’ve experienced.
Come on in, the water’s fine.
